This scenery represents the international airport of Tokyo in the 1960's, Haneda.
This package also removes the modern airport of Narita.
There are two versions of the airport in this package, 1962 and 1965.

**** ABOUT THE AIRPORT ****

Today, Tokyo International Airport (known to locals as Haneda) is consistently among
the five busiest airports in the world. In the early 1960s, it was the only international
airport serving the economic recovery of the Japanese capital. There has been an airfield
on-site since the 1930s, but it wasn't until the US Army Air Force occupation following
World War II that Haneda grew into a modern facility. In 1953, the Japanese government
created Japan Air Lines, and naturally they were based at Haneda. They quickly grew a
domestic and international network based at Haneda using a mix of DC-6 and DC-7 aircraft.
In 1960, they began jet service with the DC-8 and replaced their propliner fleet in short
order. Other domestic carriers soon joined the fray, including now-famous All Nippon
Airways in 1957.

By 1962, regular DC-8 and 707 jet service to Haneda was operated by several carriers from
Europe, the US and regional Asian airlines. With the introduction of the 707-320C and
DC-8-50 longer-range aircraft, further runway expansion was needed. The entire airport was
upgraded extensively between 1961 and 1964 in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics in October
of '64. By 1965, a longer runway 15/33, expanded terminal, and improved ground transportation
links were all in use at Haneda (these changes are reflected in the '62 and '65 versions).
The New Tokyo International Airport at Narita entered its first phase of planning and
construction shortly after, but due to political troubles and terrorism by local residents,
ultimately didn't open until 1978. Thus, for the first 20 years of the jet age, Haneda was
the primary international airport for Tokyo!

**** IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE USER, PLEASE READ ****

YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD the following scenery libraries.
Avsim is a good place to find them, and I am sure they are all on Flightsim too.
If you don't download these library sceneries, then you will only get
a bare bones airport, sorry.

fs9_custom_buildings_ss_1.zip from Sidney Schwartz
fs9_custom_buildings_ss_2.zip from Sidney Schwartz
fs9_custom_objects_ss_1.zip from Sidney Schwartz
parking_ss.zip from Sidney Schwartz
ez-ground-cover-1.zip from Dave and Steve at BEV

available from AVSIM, flightsim.com, etc.

You need to download and install all Rwy12 Library files in order to get trees and
other important objects.
Again, AVSIM and Flightsim should have these, among many other sites.

Set 1: rwy12_lib1_v1.2.zip
Set 2: rwy12_lib2_v1.2.zip
Set 3: rwy12_lib3_v1.2.zip

Typically, all the library BGL files from the files listed above are
copied into the FS2004/Addon Scenery/Static Objects Library/scenery folder,
while the BMP texture files are copied into the
FS2004/Addon Scenery/Static Objects Library/texture folder.
Add this as a Scenery Layer in the Scenery Library as described below,
if you have not done this already.

Ab_Misc.bgl from EZ scenery Library
Ab_Buildings.bgl from EZ scenery Library

available from: http://www.abacuspub.com/pub/AbacusEZLibraries.exe

Typically, this package is installed into the
FS2004/Addon Scenery/scenery and FS2004/Addon Scenery/texture folders.
Check and make sure your Addon Scenery scenery layer is present and active.

Suggested Additions:

If you do not have another airport texture addon, I suggest that you
download and install airland1.zip from AVSIM or elsewhere.
It increases frame rates while adding detail to the concrete and asphalt aprons,
taxiways, and runways.

AI propliner traffic matching this scenery is available
separately from www.calclassic.com (AI Aircraft page).

PLEASE NOTE:

A. The Tokyo Haneda 1962 *or* Tokyo Haneda 1965 should be active
if flying in the 1960's NOT BOTH.
You never need to disable the Static Objects Library layer in any case.

B. You may want to print out these instructions and
check off each step as you finish it.

INSTALLATION

This EXE installer will NOT create a Start Menu entry,
registry entry, uninstall program or anything else,
other than copying the relevant files to the proper folders.
You may install to a temporary folder by pressing the ... button
and copying things by hand if you wish.

1. Quit FS2004 if running.

2. Double click this Haneda_60s.zip file archive.
You will find this text file and a file called SetupHaneda60s.exe.

3. Double click the SetupHaneda60s.exe file to start the installation
(press the Run button at the warning screen.)
    Follow the instructions to install.
If it doesn't find your FS2004 folder automatically,
press the ... button and browse to it.

4. OPTIONAL: If you do not want dark bands in the terminal's texturing,
rename the AMS_Office2.bmp and AMS_Office2_LM.bmp files to
    AMS_Office2.bmp.orig and AMS_Office2_LM.bmp.orig.
They are found in the FS2004/Addon Scenery/Static Objects
Library/texture folder (or wherever you place your addon library files).
Then copy the supplied AMS_Office2.bmp and AMS_Office2_LM.bmp files into
    the same folder.
WARNING: this will change the appearance of this library object AROUND THE WORLD.

NOTE FOR NEXT STEPS: If you have already installed some of the
CalClassic scenery packages, you may have at least some of the
required scenery layers installed. If so, skip that step below.

5. Start FS2004, and go to the Settings/Scenery Library choice on the
opening screen. If you are currently flying, press Escape (Esc) and then End
Flight to get to this screen. Look at the top portion of the list.
If there is no Tokyo Haneda 1965 area listed there, click on the Add Area button.
Double click the ADDON SCENERY folder.
Click the Tokyo Haneda 1965 folder once.
    Click OK.

6. If there is no Tokyo Haneda 1962 area listed there, click on the Add Area button.
Double click the ADDON SCENERY folder.
Click the Tokyo Haneda 1962 folder once.
    Click OK.

7. Click on the checkmark of one of the two above layers to deactivate it.
ONLY ONE of these layers should be active at one time!

8. Deactivate the Tokyo Aerial Photo scenery layer by clicking the red check mark
    to remove it.

9. If you have any addon scenery for Tokyo Haneda (jetways, etc.) uncheck that
scenery's Active box to inactivate it.

10. Click OK. Quit and restart FS.

11. If at the main screen, choose Create Flight at the left,
select desired items, and press Fly Now.
    Choose Options/Settings/Display.
Under Scenery Objects set the Scenery Density to Dense or less
(setting to Very or Extremely Dense will display modern
    jetways at default airports).
Also, set the Autogen Density to Dense or less
    (any higher may display telephone poles in odd places at the airports;
this will also simulate the less dense cities found in the era).
    Click OK.

12. If you later want to fly in the modern era, just go into the Scenery Library
(Settings/Scenery Library) and click on the Enabled box next to the
Tokyo Haneda entries until the red check marks are removed to deactivate the
1960's scenery (do not deactivate the Static Objects Library layer).
Reverse this process again to go back to the 1960's.

13. OPTIONAL: If you have texture loading delays or frame rate issues at the
1962 airport, you can remove the runway construction equipment and parked cars
by *moving* the HANEDA62_construction.bgl file from the FS2004/Addon
Scenery/Tokyo Haneda 1962/ scenery folder to the main FS2004/Addon
    Scenery/Tokyo Haneda 1962 folder.

14. OPTIONAL: If you have addon mesh scenery for Japan, the airport may not
display correctly. If so, you can try swapping the HANEDA_flatten.bgl files
found in the Tokyo Haneda 1962 and Tokyo Haneda 1965 folders for the
rjtt_flatten_API.bgl files found in the SCENERY folders inside each of those.
Just move the rjtt_flatten_API.bgl files out and the HANEDA_flatten.bgl files
    in, and restart FS.

If that doesn't work, try changing the elevation of the airport and both
runways to 21 ft by editing the airports in AFCAD. The airport files are
the ones that are listed as "Tokyo Intl (Haneda)"; the blank ones are ILS
    approach files.
